In 1964, Operating Engineers Local Union No. 3 Business Manager Al Clem spearheaded the effort to create a Credit Union that could offer Local 3 members and their families a broad range of affordable financial services. In February 1964, the Credit Union's first official financial report showed assets of $9,682, loans to members in the amount of $2,082 and 243 members. By December 1964, the Credit Union had grown to $265,562 in assets, had loaned out $236,306 and had 2,931 members. 

Over 50 years later, the Credit Union’s financial report as of December 2016 states assets of over $1 billion strong! We now serve more than 75,000 members, with $4.5 billion in low-cost loans and returned more than $424 million in dividends since the Credit Union’s first year of operation.

From its humble beginnings within Local 3 headquarters on Valencia Street in San Francisco, the Credit Union has grown from 1 office to 24 branch offices located in 6 states:  Northern California, Northern Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Colorado, and Hawaii. For over 50 years our goal has been to serve our union brothers and sisters. We strive to provide the best financial services to fulfill our members’ financial needs. Whether it is Checking or Savings Accounts, Real Estate or Auto Loans, Visa Credit Cards, Online or Mobile Banking, our mind is always on you.
